There are many devices that require battery power such as digital cameras, radios, remote controls, toys and flashlights. Sometimes they come with cheap alkaline batteries. Once you have used up these starter batteries, you should move on to a better rechargeable one.
The type of rechargeable battery you want is Nickel-Metal Hydride or NiMH for short. The initial cost for NiMH batteries is a little more than your standard alkaline batteries plus you have to buy the charger. However, in the long run, they save you money with their ability to be recharged hundreds of times.
